Olga Kaczmar displays two of her finished Russian pysanky eggs at an egg decorating class she taught at the Senior Center on Thursday.

Every Easter, Olga Kaczmar puts all her eggs in one basket.

These are no ordinary eggs, however. They are works of art decorated in a traditional Ukrainian technique known as pysanky, where intricate patterns are etched in layers of dyes and wax and given to friends and family on Easter.

For Ukraine group leader Vyacheslav Kyrylenko told Channel 5 television on April 10 that Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has chosen former Parliament Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk as his successor. It remains unclear if Yatsenyuk has gotten round to sending a "thank you" to the president for his endorsement.

Celebration on the occasion of creation of komsomol of Ukraine will take place on June 26.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 251 out of 431 lawmakers registered in the session hall of the Verkhovna Rada voted for adoption of this resolution.

According to this resolution the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is instructed to carry out necessary measures connected with celebrations of the 90th anniversary of creation of komsomol of Ukraine.

All members of the CPU and the Lytvyn's Bloc voted for this resolution. 150 out of 175 lawmakers from the Party of Regions voted for this resolution.

LONDON (Reuters) - Radiation has affected animals living near the site of Ukraine's Chernobyl nuclear disaster far more than was previously thought, a study showed Wednesday, challenging beliefs that local wildlife was on the rebound.

The study showed that numbers of bumble-bees, butterflies, spiders, grasshoppers and other invertebrates were lower in contaminated sites than other areas because of high levels of radiation left over from the blast more than 20 years ago.
