UABA Urges Swift Congressional Passage of S. 2828 and HR. 5782

The Ukrainian American Bar Association (UABA) strongly urges swift congressional passage of Senate Bill 2828 and House Bill HR 5782. These bipartisan bills will grant Ukraine "Major Non-NATO Ally Status" (MNNA) and defensive military assistance. Once these bills become law, they will greatly enhance the United States' national security interests and will promote peace on the Eurasian continent and throughout the world.

Crisis peaceful settlement

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance was still willing to consider Ukrainian request to join the Alliance and decide whether the country posesses compliance with all the criteria for NATO member states. He also expects certain decisions to support Ukraine on the meeting of the foreign ministers of NATO member countries on December 2-3. Stoltenberg said that Russian actions in eastern Ukraine undermined the Euro-Atlantic security.

01/12/2014 one of the co-editors of Euromaidan Press Thomas Seiner photographed the contents of trucks arriving from Russia under the guise of "humanitarian convoy" for Donbass people, and uploaded the photos to his Twitter-account. They display that the trucks of the so-called "humanitarian convoy" contain weapons, ammunition and military equipment. Meanwhile, the National Security and Defence Council noted that the trend towards increasing hostilities was marked immediately after the arrival of another "convoy" from Russia.

Canada’s support for Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s invasion “…is not to us just a matter of international law or political principle. This is a matter of kinship, this is a matter of family, this is personal and we will stand by you,” said Prime Minister Stephen Harper during a recent visit to Ottawa by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

Judaica Master’s Program Launched at Kyiv Mohyla Academy

National University of Kyiv Mohyla Academy announced the establishment of a two-year Master's Program in Jewish Studies in October 2012. This initiative was made possible with the support and generosity of James C. Temerty, a friend and partner of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, and Ukrainian-Canadian philanthropist. Currently, the Program is referred to as the specialty of Judaica within the Department of History.

UKRAINIAN AMERICANS PROTEST ANTI-DEMOCRATIC REGIME IN UKRAINE

Forgive the blunt question, but are the Regionnaires really that dumb? Evidently, yes. The latest bit of evidence for their serial stupidity is the trial of Yulia Tymoshenko. If you haven’t heard, the former Orange prime minister has been charged with “abuse of office,” something that supposedly transpired when she negotiated a gas deal with Russia a few years ago.
