CONCERT: "Gala Concert of Liturgical Music"

2238 West Rice Street in Chicago - St. Nicholas Cathedral

A gala Centennial Concert of liturgical music is scheduled for October 8, 2006, at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral. Metropolitan Opera bass Stefan Szkafarowsky heads a cast of musicians that includes six Ukrainian choruses and a symphony orchestra including: St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral Choir, the St. Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Church Choir, St. Volodymy Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral choir, the St. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church choir, Surma choir; and SUMA choir. Tickets for the concert are available at St. Nicholas rectory (773-276-4537) . The presale ticket donation is $10, and $15 at the door.

 

EXHIBIT: "Crossroads: Modernism in Ukraine, 1910-1930"

Chicago Cultural Center, 4th Floor Exhibit Hall, 78 E. Washington in Chicago

The Chicago Dept. of Cultural Affairs and the Kyiv Committee of the Chicago Sister Cities International Program proudly present the first major exhibition of early 20th century Ukrainian Art in the United States. This exhibit of approximately 70 works from 21 Ukrainian artists draws from the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Theatre Museum, the Museum of Folk Art of Ukraine, along with works from private collections. 312-744-6630
